    The messy pile in the middle of the desk doesn’t seem to fit with the tall pencils standing guard in the background.

      I don’t know the precise story about this photo. It’s an original, and my feeling is that someone wanted to gather all of the Mongol promotional materials and products — perhaps as a test of some sort? Neither the setting nor the quality of the photo lend themselves toward advertising, but it’s only a guess.
